What is quivering palm 5e?

Quivering Palm is a powerful Monastic Tradition feature in Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition, available to Monks at 17th level. It allows the Monk to unleash a strike that can instantly kill a target, provided it fails a Constitution saving throw. The ability can be used once per long rest.

To use Quivering Palm, the Monk must first spend three Ki points and hit a target with an unarmed strike as part of the Attack action. The target must then make a Constitution saving throw, with a DC equal to 10 + the Monk's Wisdom modifier + the Monk's Martial Arts die. If the target fails the saving throw, it is reduced to 0 hit points and dies, regardless of its remaining hit points.

If the target succeeds the saving throw, it takes damage equal to 10d10 Necrotic damage. The ability can only be used on creatures that have a discernible anatomy, such as humanoids and beasts.

Quivering Palm is a fearsome and deadly ability that can easily take down even the most powerful foes. However, it requires careful timing and concentration, and should be used only when absolutely necessary.
